Last year, we said that the woman behind the next White Revolution may be near retirement. This year too, that’s doing the rounds. Patel, who has been at the helm for 15 years, shows no signs of flagging. Last year, she mooted the idea of the National Dairy Plan (NDP); this year, with funding from the World Bank, the first phase has been rolled out. Patel is also taking steps to expand milk production to meet the expected demand of 200 million tonnes by 2020.
