In May this year, Shell announced that Nitin Prasad, country head, Shell Lubricants, will take Hilton’s place from September. In the year leading to her retirement, Hilton made sure that her successor would have no reason to complain. On her watch, Shell set up its third IT centre in the world, this time in Bengaluru. (The others are in Houston and Amsterdam.) The company plans to staff this centre with some 1,000 techies by the end of this year. Hilton recently told the press that Shell India was on track to becoming the third-largest company in the group.
