Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has entered India’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) segment with the launch of the Urban Cruiser Ebella, its first all-electric SUV for the market. Bookings open on January 20, 2026, with prices to be announced shortly.
Built on a dedicated BEV platform, the Urban Cruiser Ebella is offered with two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh, delivering a ARAI certified driving range of up to 543 km on a single charge. The larger battery produces 128 kW of power and 189 Nm of torque, while the smaller pack delivers 106 kW with the same torque output.
The Ebella adopts Toyota’s ‘Urban Tech’ design language, featuring a hammerhead front fascia, aerodynamic SUV proportions, premium LED lighting, dual-tone exterior options and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin focuses on space and comfort, offering sliding and reclining rear seats, a panoramic roof, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting with 12 colour options, and a JBL premium sound system.

Toyota’s i-Connect suite enables remote charging control, battery monitoring, climate control, and other connected features.
The EV is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, seven airbags, a high-tensile body structure, Vehicle Stability Control, and a 360-degree camera, along with features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
The vehicle supports AC and DC fast charging, including CCS2 compatibility, and offers smart charging features such as scheduled charging and remote operation. Toyota is offering an 8-year battery warranty, Battery-as-a-Service options, assured buyback programmes, and access to over 500 BEV-enabled service touchpoints nationwide. Maintenance includes a claimed 45-minute express service at authorised outlets.
The Urban Cruiser Ebella is available in three grades (E1, E2 and E3) and offered in five monotone and four dual-tone colour options.
With this launch, Toyota marks its formal entry into India’s BEV space, positioning the Urban Cruiser Ebella as a mid-size electric SUV focused on range, safety and long-term ownership assurance.
