Scooter volumes surge 36%, EV sales soar 86% and exports rise 33% as the two-wheeler maker posts its highest-ever quarterly sales despite rising commodity costs.

TVS Motor Company on Tuesday reported a 64.5% Year-on-Year (YoY) rise in consolidated net profit to ₹1,057.61 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, buoyed by record vehicle sales, robust demand across domestic and overseas markets, and strong momentum in its Electric Vehicle (EV) portfolio.
The Chennai-based automaker's consolidated revenue from operations climbed 33.5% to ₹16,295.52 crore during the April-June quarter, compared with ₹12,210.05 crore in the corresponding period last year. Total expenses rose to ₹14,894.22 crore from ₹11,261.60 crore, reflecting higher input costs amid elevated commodity prices.
Commenting on the quarter, the company said, "Commodity prices witnessed a sharp upward trend during the quarter due to global market uncertainties resulting in increased input costs. The Company partially mitigated the cost increases through price adjustments and focused cost optimisation initiatives, including scale benefits."
TVS Motor registered its highest-ever quarterly sales, with combined two- and three-wheeler volumes increasing 28% to 16.3 lakh units from 12.8 lakh units a year earlier. Motorcycle sales grew 19% to 7.4 lakh units, while scooter volumes surged 36% to 6.8 lakh units, underscoring sustained consumer demand across key product categories.
International business also remained a key growth driver, with exports rising 33% to 4.7 lakh units during the quarter. Meanwhile, three-wheeler sales jumped 48% to 66,697 units, strengthening the company's commercial mobility business.
The company's electric mobility business continued to gain traction, with electric two-wheeler sales soaring 86% YoY to 1,29,940 units in the first quarter, compared with 70,060 units in the same period last year. TVS Motor also crossed the milestone of more than 10 lakh EV customers, highlighting the growing acceptance of its electric offerings.
On a standalone basis, TVS Motor reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue of ₹13,896 crore, up 38%, while EBITDA increased 41% to ₹1,779 crore. EBITDA margin expanded by 30 basis points to 12.8%, and profit after tax rose 51 per cent to ₹1,174 crore.
