Currency with the public has risen by around ₹1.4 lakh crore since demonetisation

Currency with the public, including banknotes, rupee coins, small coins in circulation, and cash in hand with banks, has risen by around ₹1.4 lakh crore since demonetisation. Thanks to digitisation, however, FY22 has seen the lowest growth in the past 5 years and the second lowest in 10 years.
