According to the award citation, the design aims to create a world-class aviation gateway aligned with India’s ambitions as a modern global economy.

Meanwhile, Terminal 2 at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati was acknowledged for its design inspired by the ‘Bamboo Orchid’, drawing from the region’s biodiversity and incorporating sustainable and functional architectural elements.

The 2026 Prix Versailles airport list also includes airports in Guangzhou (China), Frankfurt am Main (Germany), Kandal Stueng (Cambodia), Pittsburgh (United States), and San Diego (United States).
