Revenue climbs 17%, EBITDA jumps 31% as renewable capacity crosses 20 GW milestone

Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) reported a 19% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the June quarter on Tuesday, aided by higher revenue and strong operating performance from its expanding renewable energy portfolio. Despite the healthy earnings, the company's shares fell as much as 4% during the session, touching an intraday low of ₹1,478 as investors booked profits following the results.
The company posted a consolidated net profit of ₹983 crore for the quarter ended June 30, compared with ₹824 crore in the corresponding period last year. Revenue from operations rose 16.6% to ₹4,431 crore from ₹3,800 crore a year earlier.
EBITDA grew 31% year-on-year to ₹3,985 crore from ₹3,042 crore, while EBITDA margin expanded to 90% from 80% in the year-ago quarter.
The strong quarterly performance was supported by continued capacity addition and higher electricity generation.
During the quarter, AGEL's operational renewable energy capacity increased 27% year-on-year to 20,142 MW following the addition of 4,327 MW over the past year, including 848 MW commissioned during the June quarter. Sale of energy rose 30% year-on-year to 13.66 billion units, driven by the expanded generation base.
The company also commissioned 1,972 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity at its Khavda renewable energy project during the quarter, taking its total installed BESS capacity to 3,551 MWh through one of the world's largest single-location deployments.
"We commenced FY27 with strong momentum, underpinned by disciplined execution that enabled us to surpass the 20 GW milestone, alongside a strengthening demand environment. As power demand in India rebounded during the quarter, our expanding renewable energy portfolio enabled us to reliably meet the nation's growing clean energy requirements while continuing to deliver industry-leading operational performance," Ashish Khanna, CEO of Adani Green Energy, said.
Khanna said the company commissioned 1,972 MWh of BESS capacity during the quarter, taking the total installed battery storage capacity to 3,551 MWh. He added that as renewable energy penetration and power demand continue to rise, storage will play a critical role in ensuring round-the-clock reliability and grid stability, helping build a "resilient, flexible and future-ready" renewable ecosystem for India.
The company said its operational portfolio of 20,142 MW is capable of powering more than nine million homes while avoiding nearly 37 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions annually. It added that its flagship Khavda renewable energy project has reached 10.3 GW of operational capacity and remains on track to scale up to 30 GW by 2029. AGEL has also reiterated its target of expanding its renewable energy portfolio to 50 GW by 2030.
