A key addition in the 9th year of the Prime Day sale in India is Amazon’s AI-powered shopping assistant, Rufus.
Amazon India has announced its Prime Day 2025 sale, scheduled to run from July 12 to 14 — a day longer than previous editions. This marks the first time the event has been extended beyond two days in India. However, in the US, Prime Day 2025 is being held as a four-day event. The sale, now in its ninth edition, will be available exclusively to Prime members.
The 72-hour event will feature a range of deals across product categories, early access to new product launches, and exclusive content releases on Prime Video — all available only to Prime members.
This year’s sale will include new launches from over 400 Indian and global brands across smartphones, electronics, appliances, fashion, and everyday essentials. Among the key smartphone launches are the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G, OnePlus Nord 5, iQOO 13, and OPPO Reno14 Series. Discounts are expected on both new and existing models, along with bundled exchange and EMI offers.
In consumer electronics, buyers can expect price cuts on laptops, tablets, wearables, headphones, speakers, and cameras from brands including Apple, HP, Lenovo, Sony, and GoPro. Large-screen TVs from Sony, LG, and Xiaomi will also be part of the sale, with additional offers on accessories, extended warranties, and installation.
Home appliance categories such as refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and microwaves from brands like LG, Haier, and Carrier will see discounts. Amazon will also extend its offers to fashion, with deals on clothing, footwear, jewellery, and luggage, along with early access to select product launches. The sale will cover grooming and healthcare products as well.
Amazon Fresh and grocery items will be included, with discounts on kitchen staples, packaged foods, and cleaning supplies. Pet care, baby care, wellness products, and personal grooming tools will also be part of the offering.
Books, toys, and gaming accessories are expected to be discounted by up to 75%. Smart devices like Echo speakers, Fire TV sticks, and Kindle e-readers will also see price reductions.
Alongside retail offers, Amazon will provide financial incentives via partner banks, with card-based discounts and cashback on eligible transactions. Services under Amazon Pay, Amazon Business, and programs like Saheli, Karigar, and Launchpad — which support small businesses, women entrepreneurs, and artisans — will also feature in the event.
Prime Video will stream 17 new Indian and international series and films across multiple languages in the run-up to the sale, as part of Amazon’s integrated push around Prime Day.
A key addition in the 9th year of the Prime Day sale in India is Amazon’s AI-powered shopping assistant, Rufus. Rufus helps users make faster and better-informed decisions by answering queries, comparing products, and offering real-time, personalised recommendations during the shopping journey.
Last year, more than 24% more Prime members in India shopped during the sale compared to 2023, marking the highest-ever engagement for the event. The 2024 edition also saw record Prime membership sign-ups in the two and a half weeks leading up to the sale.
