EBITDA grows 4% as operating costs outpace revenue growth; Oberoi Group expands luxury hotel pipeline across India and overseas

EIH Ltd, the flagship company of The Oberoi Group, reported a steady operational performance for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, with consolidated revenue rising in double digits on the back of resilient domestic travel demand and sustained momentum in luxury hospitality. While profit attributable to the owners of EIH Ltd surged on a low base, the company's operating margin narrowed as expenses grew faster than revenue.
Consolidated revenue from operations rose 14.5% year-on-year to ₹657 crore from ₹574 crore. Calculated EBITDA increased 4.2% to ₹166.5 crore from ₹159.8 crore, while the EBITDA margin slipped to 25.35% from 27.86% in the year-ago period. Profit attributable to the owners of EIH Ltd jumped 245.9% to ₹117 crore from ₹34 crore, aided by the absence of an exceptional loss recorded in the corresponding quarter last year.
Despite healthy top-line growth, operating profitability remained largely stable as total operating expenses increased 17.7%, outpacing the 14.5% growth in revenue. Consequently, calculated EBITDA grew at a slower pace, resulting in a contraction in operating margins during the quarter.
The company, however, said demand remained resilient despite geopolitical uncertainties.
"India is emerging as one of the world's most dynamic travel and tourism markets, presenting a transformational opportunity for our industry. Despite an uncertain global environment, the resilience of domestic demand and the strength of India's long-term fundamentals give us confidence to invest in growth," executive chairman Arjun Oberoi said.
He added that EIH is undertaking "one of the most ambitious development programmes in EIH's history" while remaining committed to excellence, sustainability and long-term value creation.
Managing director and chief executive officer Vikram Oberoi said the company's performance reflected "sustained domestic demand, the enduring trust and loyalty of our guests, and the dedication of our colleagues who consistently deliver exceptional hospitality."
"As we pursue our growth strategy and expand our footprint, we remain committed to creating long-term value for all stakeholders through operational excellence, prudent capital allocation, and unforgettable guest experiences," he said.
During the quarter, EIH expanded its development pipeline by signing management agreements for new Oberoi-branded hotels in Kabini, Hampi, Coorg and Cairo, along with Trident properties in Amritsar and Pavana near Mumbai. The company said these additions support its ambition to significantly expand its portfolio by 2030 while strengthening its presence across high-growth leisure, wildlife and international destinations.
EIH also highlighted the growing global recognition of its luxury portfolio. The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace, Khajuraho, one of its newest properties, was included in TIME Magazine's World's Greatest Places 2026 and the Condé Nast Traveller Global Hot List 2026, reinforcing the group's strategy of expanding its premium hospitality footprint.
Shares of EIH Ltd ended Thursday's session 0.61% lower at ₹326 apiece on the NSE. The stock has declined nearly 11% over the past year, underperforming the benchmark Nifty 500 index, which has gained more than 4% during the same period.
