Reliance Foundation has impacted over 97 million people across India over the past 16 years, Founder-Chairperson Nita Ambani said at Reliance Industries' AGM, outlining the organisation's expanding footprint in rural transformation, education, healthcare, sports, and sustainability.

"This year, Reliance Foundation enters its 16th year of dedicated service to India," Ambani said. "Over the last 16 years, Reliance Foundation has touched the lives of over 97 million Indians across every single state of India."

The foundation currently works in nearly 100,000 villages across the country, focusing on healthcare, women's empowerment, education, ecosystem restoration, farmer training, disaster relief and community development. "We work in nearly a hundred thousand villages, that is almost one in every six villages of India, with a simple vision--to help every village become more self-reliant, climate-resilient, rejuvenated, and full of opportunities and hope," she said.

Focus on education and sports

Among the foundation's key initiatives is the establishment of a new state private university in Maharashtra, which recently received approval from the state government. The permanent campus at Dronagiri will span 410 acres and house seven schools covering engineering, management, law, humanities, medical sciences, architecture and education, with a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

"Our upcoming permanent campus at Dronagiri, spread across 410 acres, will be truly world-class, in size, design, and most importantly, excellence in academics and research," Ambani said.

The university will offer courses in Engineering & Computing, Management & Entrepreneurship, Governance & Policy, Humanities & Social Sciences, Medical Science & Public Health, Architecture & Urban Planning, and Education. The University will offer undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral program.

The foundation also announced the foundation stone laying of Vantara University, which will focus on wildlife conservation and veterinary sciences.

Healthcare, women empowerment and rural transformation

Ambani said Reliance is moving ahead with plans to modernise Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai as part of a larger vision to create an integrated medical hub in the city.

With a planned capacity of 1,500 beds, the hospital will focus on areas including cancer care, emergency and trauma services, organ transplantation, and neurodegenerative disorders. More than 450 beds will be reserved for economically weaker sections through its partnership with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The foundation also highlighted its broader social impact initiatives. According to Ambani, Reliance Foundation has empowered one million women entrepreneurs, helped nearly 200,000 young Indians secure employment, and reached more than 23 million people through rural transformation programmes. "Behind every number in our annual report is a life changed, a family uplifted, a future transformed," she said.
