PM will take part in the 'Samudra se Samriddhi’ event and inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over ₹34,200 crore at Bhavnagar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled projects worth ₹72,924 crore on Saturday, signalling a major push in port, energy, and infrastructure development. The announcements mark a new phase of growth and modernisation across key sectors of the economy.
PM is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various maritime development projects worth over ₹7,870 crore, marking a significant milestone for the sector. Among the projects to be inaugurated is the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock, as announced in the PIB press release.
According to the release, the PM will lay the foundation stone for a new container terminal and associated facilities at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata, as well as a new container berth, cargo handling facilities, and related developments at Paradip Port.
Other projects include the Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal, firefighting facilities and modern road connectivity at Kamarajar Port in Ennore, coastal protection works including sea walls and revetments at Chennai Port, sea wall construction at Car Nicobar Island, a multi-purpose cargo berth and Green Bio-Methanol Plant at Deendayal Port in Kandla, and ship repair facilities at Patna and Varanasi.
The Prime Minister will also take part in the 'Samudra se Samriddhi’ event and inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over ₹34,200 crore at Bhavnagar, according to the release.
It was noted that, in line with his commitment to holistic and sustainable development, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple central and state government projects worth over ₹26,354 crore, spanning various sectors in Gujarat.
He will inaugurate the HPLNG Regasification Terminal at Chhara Port, the Acrylics & Oxo Alcohol Project at Gujarat IOCL Refinery, the 600 MW Green Shoe Initiative, the PM-KUSUM 475 MW Component C solar feeder for farmers, the 45 MW Badeli Solar PV Project, and complete the solarisation of Dhordo village, among others.
He will lay the foundation stone for LNG infrastructure, new renewable energy projects, coastal protection works, highways, and healthcare and urban transport projects, including expansions at Sir T. General Hospital in Bhavnagar, Guru Govind Sinh Government Hospital at Jamnagar, and the four-laning of 70 km of national highways, as per the release.
PM will also carry out an aerial survey of the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), a planned greenfield industrial city focused on sustainable industrialisation, smart infrastructure, and global investment. He will also visit and review the progress of the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NHMC) at Lothal, a development project costing around ₹4,500 crore, designed to celebrate and preserve India’s ancient maritime heritage and serve as a hub for tourism, research, education, and skill development, according to the press release.
