Under the first phase, Bounce will deploy electric scooters across the two cities over the next three months
Swiggy has entered a partnership with electric mobility startup Bounce to deploy electric vehicles (EVs) among its delivery partners, starting with Delhi NCR and Bengaluru. Announced on Monday, the food tech giant aims to reduce its carbon footprint of hyperlocal deliveries while bringing down operating costs for riders.
“This partnership with Bounce is a significant move towards greener and more cost-effective delivery. We aim to scale this partnership across multiple cities in the country in the coming months. We stay committed to our goal of having a 100% electric delivery fleet by 2030 and will explore partnerships with relevant players to ensure we build a robust and sustainable ecosystem enabling widespread adoption of EVs across the delivery partners ecosystem,” said Saurav Goyal, Senior Vice President-Driver & Delivery Org, Swiggy, in a statement.
Under the first phase, Bounce will deploy electric scooters across the two cities over the next three months. These vehicles will be available to Swiggy and Instamart delivery partners at special pricing through the Bounce Daily app and Swiggy’s delivery partner app. Bounce will oversee deployment, management and maintenance of the scooters.
Swiggy currently has over 5.4 lakh delivery partners on its platform including both its food delivery and quick commerce operations.
The initiative is part of Swiggy’s broader strategy to transition to a 100% electric delivery fleet by 2030. The company currently works with more than 50 EV partners nationwide to ensure availability of electric vehicles for delivery partners. The tie-up with Bounce is expected to strengthen this supply, while ensuring delivery workers gain access to affordable EV options.
Bounce operates a full-stack electric mobility platform offering scooters on flexible rental plans, with more than 20,000 vehicles already deployed across the country. The company also manufactures its own IoT-enabled electric two-wheelers and maintains a battery swapping network to support fleet operators and gig workers.
Alongside the EV rollout, the two companies have launched an engagement drive for delivery partners under the “Swiggy Bounce Raja” campaign. The contest rewards the delivery partner completing the highest number of orders on a Bounce scooter with a free electric scooter. Two campaigns have already been held, in May and July, with the first winner receiving a vehicle.
