Shares of Tata Investment Corporation rose by as much as 5.5% to ₹7,156.55 on the BSE after the non-banking financial company (NBFC) of the Tata group reported double-digit growth in its net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2025. The sentiment was further lifted after the company announced its first-ever stock split in a 1:10 ratio today, alongside its earnings report for the June quarter.

For the first quarter ended June 30, 2025, Tata Investment Corp. posted a 11.6% year-on-year (YoY) rise in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) at ₹146.3 crore, driven by higher dividend income. The company had posted PAT of ₹131.07 crore in the corresponding quarter in the last fiscal, Tata Investment Corporation Ltd (TICL) said in a regulatory filing today.

According to the company, consolidated total revenue from operations increased marginally to ₹145.46 crore, compared to ₹142.46 crore in the year-ago period.

Board approves first-ever stock split

The middle-layer NBFC also informed the exchanges that its board also approved the sub-division of one equity share with a face value of ₹10 into 10 fully paid-up equity shares with a face value of ₹1 each. This is subject to shareholders’ approval and any other regulatory approvals, as may be required under applicable laws, the release noted.

The company said that the record date for the purpose of the sub-division of equity shares will be intimated in due course. “The present authorised capital of the Company is ₹60 crore divided into 60 crore ordinary shares of ₹1 each with power to increase the capital from time to time,” it said.

According to the company, the stock split will enhance the liquidity and encourage participation of retail investors by making equity shares more affordable. The sub-division of equity shares is expected to be closed within two months from the date of approval of the shareholders of the company.
