Learning is never definite. One can always acquire more and more knowledge on sources that inspire them. Upscaling is a concept that is embedded across all fields in such an integrated manner that people across all industries have been able to adopt a variety of learning processes to keep them afoot in their choice of field. One such individual who is always willing to learn and grow is the South Indian Superstar Puneet Rajkumar, the founder of PRK Productions.

The artist started this production house in the loving memory of his mother Dr Parvathamma Rajkumar who in her time produced almost 90 films under their home banner Vajreshwari Combines. Dr Parvathamma along with her husband Dr. Rajkumar and sons Dr. Shiva Rajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar and Puneet Rajkumar produced these movies and were able to attain a success ratio of over 80%. Incepting it in 2017, PRK Productions has been a medium for Puneet to channel his passion for acting and also create opportunities with a platform for the emerging talents in the industry.

Puneet has been foraging in the entertainment industry ever since he was a child. Though the early years were generally guided and mentored by professionals in the field, it was mostly done under home productions. Puneet got to learn and understand a lot about the industry and even won the National Award for the movie ‘Bettada Hoovu’ at the tender age of 11. He used to watch and listen to his counterparts and generally drew a lot of inspiration from his surroundings.

As he entered the teen years of his life, he decided to take a step back from the field of acting. He had already done over 12 films by then and thought that it was about time to do something new. Since life had something else destined for him, he was re-launched as an actor by Vajreshwari Combines in the year 2002.

Sharing his advice for budding actors in the industry who are trying to gain stability in pursuing acting as a career, he says, “Dedication is very important. Stay focused. Listening will definitely bring in a lot of changes. I always advise the budding actors to have more options in life and do not put all their eggs in one basket. Having various alternatives when it comes to your profession is always a good option. Pursue it and keep working hard towards achieving your goal.”

PRK Productions has been a fantastic platform for young talent. They are always on the lookout for interesting scripts and they hold a team who dedicatedly works on them. “If we like the script then we go ahead. We basically look into genres that are more appealing to today’s audience and would like to experiment. Considering today’s technology, which is a lot easier, wherein you can make films on your phone, to prove your credibility all that one might have to do is shoot for a couple of hours, add some good sound/music, and send it to us. If you manage to impress us, we go ahead. It is as simple as that”, says Puneet sharing his piece of mind when asked about the working of the production house.

With a strong foothold in the industry for over four decades, Puneet does not plan to shift his areas of interest now. He keeps on learning new things but is determined to revolutionize the entertainment industry itself. Being considered a youth icon especially for people from Karnataka, he is very grateful for all the love and respect he has garnered over the ages. He is highly motivated to keep inspiring the youth and bring something new to the table.

Talking about his views on the advent of OTT platforms, Puneet Rajkumar says, “OTT is a great platform which has opened up opportunities for people to be a part of the entertainment industry and showcase their talent with different experiments. But, for a country like ours, along with OTT we still have a great theatre market which can never fail for a long time because there is nothing like watching a movie in the theatre. Of course, OTT has encouraged people to do different genres of cinema.”

The South Indian actor has indeed made a difference with the unique and quality content that he brings on the screen. Giving a chance to the emerging talents in the industry, he is without a doubt on the way to touching horizons while producing movies that add value to the lives of his audience.
