Dial M for masses
When you’re worth $27 billion (Rs 1.22 lakh crore), you do have a say in the pricing of your book. Mukesh Ambani, CMD, Reliance Industries, is set to debut as an author this year. With The Reliance Way, to be published by Penguin India, he enters the fledgling list of Indian business barons-turned-authors. But, unlike N.R. Narayana Murthy and Nandan Nilekani, Ambani will ensure the price (undisclosed for now) suits the average reader. “Nandan’s book cost Rs 699,” says Udayan Mitra, head of business books at Penguin. “The standard pricing is between Rs 599 and Rs 699.” Sounds just like Reliance Infocomm’s launch offer.
