After publicly praising Indian cuisine in December, Johnson sparked controversy by bringing his own food supply during his visit to India.
Death-averse millionaire entrepreneur Bryan Johnson, who walked out of Nikhil Kamath’s podcast over India’s air pollution, has now added Indian garam masala to his daily diet.
Founder and former CEO of Kernel, known for his anti-aging experiment "Project Blueprint," follows a strict regimen of diet, exercise, medical testing, and experimental treatments.
In a post on X on Wednesday, Johnson shared his upcoming meal plan, including a Blueprint Superfood Smoothie, Butternut Squash Soup with Roasted Apples and Carrots alongside other items. The butternut squash soup is prepared with a pinch of garam masala, the famous Indian spice blend using which the biryanis and the dals are made particularly used extensively in winters for its warmth and depth of flavours.
Johnson was in India last month as part of the promotion campaign of his Netflix documentary, Don’t Die. In December, he had praised Indian food in a post saying, "Power is moving away from football and fast food and towards health, science, and Indian food."
Yet, during his India visit, he faced backlash when he revealed that despite this endorsement, he was carrying a six-day supply of his own food.
"Food is guilty until proven innocent. This is why I’ve brought with me to India every calorie I’ll eat for six days," he posted on X, listing longevity mixes, macadamia nut bars, lentils, pea soup, and matcha—all aligned with his meticulously tested Blueprint diet.
Johnson later clarified that his precautions weren’t India-specific but reflected his broader concerns about the global food supply.
Johnson, during his India visit, had said that he immediately felt the effects upon landing in Mumbai.
"I arrived in Mumbai yesterday, and even with air purifiers in my hotel room and wearing an N95 mask outside, my throat and eyes burn. I agree, it’s a pretty serious health situation," he posted on X.
The 45-year-old American entrepreneur and venture capitalist follows an intensely detailed and scientific routine aimed at reversing aging. He also follows a strict plant-based diet and intermittent fasting. His daily schedule includes waking up at 4:30 am, taking over 100 supplements, and following a strict exercise regimen, aside from the strict diet plan. He also spends millions annually on health monitoring and procedures like plasma transfusions from his son.
