Budget 2022: Centre spending more on day to day expenses
Revenue expenditure, or expenses in the current period, had been falling as a percentage of GDP till FY19, but changed direction after that to touch 15.2% in FY21. Falling revenue expenditure signals improvement in quality of expenditure (more money is being used for building capital assets rather than for day-to-day expenses)
