Shagun SIP has been designed to reflect how investors traditionally accumulate precious metals like gold and silver, progressively and over a period. It brings this familiar approach into a modern, fully digital investment experience. Investors can build their gold and silver exposure gram by gram, without the challenges associated with physical ownership, making charges, etc. Investors can accumulate gold up to 25 kg, and silver up to 50 kg. All investments by the underlying schemes of the Schemes are made in high‑purity gold and silver—99.5% and 99.9% respectively, offering transparency and consistency without concerns around storage, security or purity.

Shagun SIP offers investors flexibility to invest in smaller amounts on a regular basis, with purchases spread over time. This move from static to dynamic pricing aligns investments more closely with actual prices of metals over time. As investments are made across different market levels, investors average their purchase cost over the investment period, rather than timing the market at a single price point.

Shagun SIP places strong emphasis on goal‑oriented investing. For longer‑term goals, such as marriage, wealth preservation, education, investors can set a target to accumulate an amount corresponding to a specific quantity of gold or silver over several years. The system then calculates the required investment amount and sets up a clear, personalised plan.  If an investor wants to accumulate an amount equivalent to approximately 5kg of gold over 10 years, Shagun SIP enables a dynamic systematic investment amount equivalent to grams.

Boniface Noronha, Chief Digital Officer, said, “Gold and silver remain important asset classes for Indian investors, accumulated steadily over time. Shagun SIP, a first‑of‑its‑kind digital feature, is a solution that offers a fully digital, goal‑based experience for investors looking to build gold and silver holdings systematically over the long term. Axis Mutual Fund continues to invest in strengthening its innovative digital features and simplifying the customer journey.  This is in line with our effort to deliver solutions that are easy to use and relevant across investor segments, regions and stages of life.”
