Fortune India 500: Everything you need to know
Fortune India 500 (FI500), the definitive ranking of India’s largest corporations for the year 2018 is out. Currently in its ninth year, through this list, Fortune India takes a deep dive into the health and wealth of the country’s largest companies.
Like every year, this year too, the rankings are a mix of stories of success and failure, challenges and opportunities. Indian Oil Corporation tops the 2018 #FortuneIndia500 list with a revenue of over ₹4.24 lakh crore.
On the face of it, the companies haven’t fared too badly on the turnover front, with the aggregate top line of the 500 growing 11.7% to ₹83.82 lakh crore over the previous year. FI 500 2018 salaries (₹826,403 crore) grew 11.7% annually from 2017 (₹749,780 crore)
However, FI 500 2018 profit (₹407,223 crore) fell 10.2% annually from 2017 (₹453,218 crore).
