India began the first phase of the mass vaccination programme against Covid-19. Fortune India's photo team visited one session site in Gurugram where the campaign was in full swing.

The Covid-19 vaccination programme in India began with the first shot being given to a sanitation worker in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) premises, in the presence of Dr. Randeep Guleria, director, AIIMS, and the union health minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan.

The vaccination programme—touted to be the largest such exercise undertaken in India's history—is right now on the first phase, which would seek to target over 300,000 health workers across the country.
