The highly anticipated Apple iPhone 17 is expected to make its debut soon, and early details suggest some exciting upgrades in store. As per reports, Apple is likely to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup in autumn 2025, with a launch tentatively slated for September. Staying true to its multi-model approach, the upcoming series is expected to include four variants: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and the top-end iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are expected to come with a notable design upgrade, particularly in the rear camera department. Leaks suggest that Apple will introduce a refreshed rectangular rear camera housing, departing from its signature diagonal or square layout.

This new module will reportedly feature repositioned LiDAR sensors and flash units for improved functionality and sleeker aesthetics. According to a user on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, another major change lies beneath the surface—Apple may equip the iPhone 17 Pro models with larger batteries, aimed at extending battery life significantly. However, this enhancement may come at the cost of added bulk. The Pro models are expected to be thicker than their predecessor, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max reportedly measuring 8.725mm in thickness compared to the 8.25mm of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Despite the increase, Apple is likely to balance form and function, focusing on performance gains.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to be Apple’s slimmest iPhone yet, with a minimalist design featuring a single rear camera and a right-aligned flash. According to a report by MacRumors, the battery capacity for the latest flagship is expected to be closer to 5,000mAh, up from 4,676mAh in the iPhone 16 Pro Max, with an estimated battery life of up to 35 hours, compared to 33 hours in its predecessor.

Some media reports also suggest that the base model of the iPhone 17 is expected to retain a design language similar to that of the iPhone 16, with a potential screen size upgrade.
