Through this collaboration, Capgemini aims to deliver end-to-end sovereign solutions that help clients accelerate their adoption of Microsoft’s Sovereign Cloud portfolio and innovative AI technologies.

Managed model for digital sovereignty

As part of the collaboration, Capgemini will assist clients in defining and operationalising their digital sovereignty strategy. This includes comprehensive assessments to define sovereignty objectives, evaluate risk exposure, and deliver actionable recommendations tailored to specific needs.

The offering allows organisations to seamlessly operate across Microsoft’s sovereign public, sovereign private, and national partner cloud environments. It is further supported by practical resiliency scenarios that enable organisations to sustain operations and meet regulatory requirements during geopolitical or operational disruptions.

Sovereignty-by-design

The partnership introduces a "sovereignty-by-design" approach to digital transformation. This framework includes specialized tools for classifying data, modernising legacy systems, and building trusted AI solutions while ensuring that sensitive workloads are properly governed.

Key technical features of the partnership include:

  • Automated data protection: Providing AI-powered cyber defense and encryption services tailored for sovereign environments.

  • Intelligent risk management: Offering an end-to-end view of compliance and governance across cloud environments.

  • Industry-specific accelerators: Targeted solutions for sectors such as financial services, defense, public sector, healthcare, life sciences, and national critical infrastructure.

  • "By deepening our partnership with Microsoft, we intend to bring together the experience and innovative AI solutions clients need to make decisions with confidence," said Aiman Ezzat, CEO of Capgemini. He stressed that Capgemini helps organisations embed sovereignty throughout the transformation lifecycle to manage risk and meet compliance.

Judson Althoff, chief  commercial officer at Microsoft, added that sovereignty has become mission-critical for organisations wanting to realise the promise of AI while maintaining full control over their data and operations.

This expanded alliance builds on more than two decades of collaboration between the two firms. It follows the 2024 launch of Bleu in France—a jointly created trusted cloud partner between Capgemini and Orange—designed specifically to meet the cloud needs of the French state and essential service operators.
