Motorola Edge 60 Pro

Motorola's latest Edge 60 Pro is now available from as low as ₹25,358 on e-commerce platforms despite sales getting over. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor, this device features a display with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, which makes it stand out. The sturdy, well-designed form factor adds to its appeal. Battery life is robust, with a 6,000 mAh cell and 90W fast charging, with claims of up to 34 hours’ use. Audio quality also impresses, with dual Dolby Atmos stereo speakers delivering rich sound. While this phone may not be meant for gamers, the Edge 60 Pro does serve as a compelling option for those not interested in Samsung or Nothing or other popular brands in this segment.

OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE5

OnePlus unveiled this year its latest Nord smartphones—the Nord 5 and the Nord CE5. The Nord 5 comes equipped with a 6,800 mAh battery, which lasts longer than the Motorola Edge 60 Pro because of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. Another standout feature is its vapour chamber cooling system that keeps the phone temperature in check even during extended use. The phone, however, did heat up during prolonged gaming sessions. While not the best camera phone in its class, the Nord 5 offers dual main cameras with a 50 MP setup and a 5 MP ultrawide lens, and a 50 MP front camera. The front camera is indeed a standout feature, but the rear camera trails competitors.

Other specifications including storage and display match its peers at the same price point. With a tempting price point, this phone is good for those who either want a durable phone that has better camera capabilities than Samsung’s A and M series and want performance better than Motorola and Nothing.

The Nord CE5, meanwhile, is the budget option, sharing similarities in display and stereo quality. The chipset however is the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 and comes with a better battery capacity of 7,100 mAh. This phone is more suited for daily tasks, music playback, and social apps.

Despite the sales coming to an end, the Nord 5 and Nord CE5 are currently available across e-commerce platforms at prices starting as low as ₹29,999 and ₹24,999, respectively. Either of these devices can be clubbed with the latest OnePlus Nord Buds 3r, for under ₹2,000. These boast usage of up to 54 hours with the case and 12 hours from the earbuds alone. While the Nord Buds 3r packs trendy features like real-time AI translation, Tap-2-take photos, Aqua Touch controls, and Find My Earbuds, many of the AI additions feel more gimmicky than genuinely useful in daily life.

The Pixel 10 is powered by the new Tensor G5 chip and offers an upgraded experience of Gemini Live, which is even available in 9 Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, and Kannada. There are numerous AI features to play with including Magic Cue and Camera Coach for taking the right shots. Magic Cue helps in contextual responses such as booking reservations based on previous messages or retrieving plans from earlier chats. Tarun Pathak, research director of Counterpoint Research, says that Google sells it base models the most in India with almost 85% of sales coming from these versions. According to Navkendar Singh, AVP of International Data Corporation (IDC), Google sold only 400,000 units last year and may see significant double-digit growth in volumes this year.

These two are major upgrades in the current tablet market. The Pad Lite, priced at ₹13,999, features an 11-inch LCD display with a 90 Hz refresh rate and runs on a Mediatek Helio G100 processor. While storage and RAM are not expected to be an issue in the long run, chipset and refresh rate are some of the features that will impact long-term durability. The reason, this can be a festive choice for many, is its battery capability. It comes with a 9,340 mAh battery and 33W fast charging.

For those considering whether a tablet can replace a laptop, the Pad 3 offers a compelling case. Priced at ₹47,999, it stands out in India for offering premium features at a considerably lower cost than its global price tag of around $700. A Snapdragon 8 Elite powers the tablet with up to 4.32 GHz octa-core processing and houses a 12,140 mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging. The stereo quality is also one of the best as it boasts eight speakers (with a combination of woofers and tweeters) delivering spatial sound.
