IndiGo has announced daily direct flights connecting Thiruvananthapuram with Malé, Maldives, starting October 26, 2025. Thiruvananthapuram becomes the fourth Indian city, after Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kochi, to have direct connectivity to Malé.

“We are pleased to announce daily flights between Thiruvananthapuram and Malé, enhancing access to the recently expanded Velana International Airport. With this, IndiGo will now operate 28 weekly flights to the Maldives from four cities in India. With India being a major source of tourists for the Maldives, and the growing business ties between the two countries, this new route is poised to enhance not only connectivity but also further contribute to strengthening the growing bilateral relations,” said Vinay Malhotra, Head-Sales, IndiGo, in a statement.

The flights will operate on IndiGo’s ATR aircraft, offering affordable and reliable travel for both leisure and business passengers.

IndiGo operates ATR 72-600 aircraft for short- to medium-haul flights, featuring a 78-seat, designed for short runways, requiring just 1,315 m for takeoff and 915 m for landing.

With this new service, IndiGo will operate a total of 28 weekly flights to the Maldives from four Indian cities. The daily direct flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Malé will commence at 12:00, with flights back to the Kerala capital departing at 14:05 (Maldives Time (MVT)).

IndiGo is India’s largest airline with over 400 aircraft, operating 2,200 daily flights to 90 cities across India and 40 international destinations. The flights have been launched in a bid to boost tourism, business, and bilateral ties between India and the Maldives.

For now, the tickets will only be available via IndiGo’s website and mobile app. The airline has not yet revealed the pricing for these flights.
