With the launch, Akasa Air becomes one of the first carriers to operate commercial services from Noida International Airport, underscoring its focus on expanding into emerging aviation hubs and improving connectivity across high-growth markets in India.

Anand Srinivasan, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, said the launch represents an important milestone in the airline’s growth journey. “As one of India’s newest aviation gateways, Noida International Airport offers significant opportunities to enhance connectivity for travellers across the NCR and neighbouring states,” he said.

Srinivasan added that the airline’s early presence at the airport aligns with its long-term strategy of building a strong network across key growth markets while supporting the development of modern aviation infrastructure.

Christoph Schnellmann, Vice Chairman of Noida International Airport, said Akasa Air’s entry would expand travel options and improve regional connectivity. “As one of the first airlines operating from the airport, Akasa Air will help create new travel opportunities and offer greater choice for passengers. Together, we aim to deliver a seamless travel experience while supporting connectivity, economic growth and regional development across Uttar Pradesh and northern India,” he said.

The airline said the move further strengthens its presence in northern India and supports its broader plan of building a diversified network across domestic and international destinations.

Akasa Air also announced plans to operate a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility within the airport premises. The facility will provide advanced aircraft maintenance services and support operational efficiency and safety standards.

Meanwhile, IndiGo on Monday launched its flight operations from Noida International Airport, becoming the first airline to commence services from the National Capital Region’s newest aviation hub. The airline’s first inbound flight arrived from Lucknow on Monday morning, followed shortly by the inaugural outbound service from NIA to Bengaluru.
