As India gears up for its biggest shopping season, Flipkart’s marketplace is seeing significant momentum. The platform has reported a 25-30% increase in transacting sellers over the past six months, driven by a surge in MSMEs, artisans, and entrepreneurs joining the digital commerce wave. This comes alongside a 30% growth in seller business between June and August 2025.

Flipkart attributes this growth to a combination of technology-driven tools and strategic support programs designed to simplify the selling process. Sellers now rely on the revamped Seller Hub and the AI-powered NXT Insights Platform, which offers real-time analytics on pricing, inventory, and market trends. These solutions are helping sellers respond more effectively to rising festive demand, says the company, particularly in key categories like Fashion, Books & General Merchandise (BGM), and Electronics.

“The festive season is a pivotal opportunity for our seller community, and Flipkart remains committed to helping them succeed. Through AI-led platforms like NXT Insights and simplified Seller Hub operations, we are equipping sellers with the right tools and knowledge to drive growth with confidence,” said Sakait Chaudhary, SVP and head of Marketplace at Flipkart.

The growth is not limited to metropolitan areas. Flipkart is actively onboarding sellers from emerging trade hubs such as Kannauj (famous for fragrances), Khurja (pottery), and Shantipur (handlooms), enabling local artisans to reach a broader customer base. Over the past year, Flipkart engaged with more than 8,000 entrepreneurs through Seller Summits in Jaipur, Surat, and Delhi.

In addition, Flipkart has simplified GST compliance for sellers by integrating automatic backend updates and offering detailed training sessions to ensure the seamless implementation of next-generation GST reforms, which are set to take effect from September 22.
