Stressing that India will lead the next phase of Global Capability Centre (GCC) evolution and contribute majorly to the global economy, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) today said it will host GCC Summit Series on the theme “From Ledger to Global Leadership: Chartered Accountants Shaping Global Capability Centres", beginning from New Delhi on June 27–28. 

“India is a host to 1800 GCCs currently. We have become the back office of the entire world. It is a $64 billion ecosystem with 1.9 million professionals and is all set to grow and contribute to the global economy majorly in the near future. Our members are redefining the GCCs,” said Charanjot Singh Nanda, President, ICAI. 

 “India is uniquely positioned to lead the next phase of the GCC evolution. Chartered Accountants are central to driving digital finance, regulatory integrity and global governance. Through this summit, industry experts and Chartered Accountants will come together to share insights, provide practical solutions and foster policy dialogue that can address these pain points and further strengthen India's position as a global GCC hub,” Nanda said.

 “While the GCC ecosystem in India continues to grow rapidly, it faces persistent challenges around regulatory clarity, taxation policies and evolving operational frameworks. The Summit will serve as a platform for collaboration,” said Prasanna Kumar D, Vice-President, ICAI.

“In this series, the first summit will be held in New Delhi on June 27–28, 2025, with regional editions to follow in Ahmedabad (GIFT City), Mumbai and Hyderabad,” ICAI said.

“This landmark initiative aims to reinforce India’s growing leadership in the Global Capability Centres (GCC) ecosystem, highlighting the critical and evolving role of Indian Chartered Accountants in the global services landscape. The summit series will bring together industry stalwarts, policymakers, academicians and global stakeholders to discuss emerging trends, foster strategic partnerships and catalyse innovation in the GCC space,” ICAI added.

“Several government bodies have extended their support to the GCC Summit Series as Partners, including the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), IFSCA, SEPC, Invest India, NSDC, and IIM Sambalpur,” it added.
