SAP Concur has launched the new Concur Travel experience for customers in India, marking one of the most significant upgrades to its travel platform in recent years as the company looks to address changing business travel expectations through artificial intelligence and automation.
The AI-powered platform is designed to offer a faster and more intuitive way to plan, book, and manage business travel while enabling organisations to maintain visibility, compliance, and cost control.
The launch comes at a time when Indian enterprises are increasingly seeking travel solutions that balance employee experience with governance, policy adherence, expense management and sustainability objectives.
According to SAP Concur’s 2026 Global Business Travel Survey, demand for AI-enabled travel tools is accelerating among Indian professionals. The survey found that 91% of Indian business travellers would use AI tools not approved by their company while 73% said they prefer alternative AI solutions over those provided internally.
“Organizations need travel solutions that can adapt to changing traveler expectations while helping businesses maintain governance and efficiency,” said Charlie Sultan, President, Concur Travel at SAP Concur.
He added that the new Concur Travel platform creates a foundation for continued innovation by combining AI capabilities with an integrated travel and expense ecosystem to improve traveller experience while preserving business visibility and control.
Built on a modern technology architecture, the new Concur Travel platform reimagines how business travel is planned and managed.
The platform features simplified booking and checkout processes aimed at reducing the time required to complete travel arrangements. Integration with SAP Concur’s expense management solutions also enables a connected workflow from booking through reimbursement.
The redesigned interface offers a consumer-grade experience across desktop and mobile devices, allowing users to search, compare and book travel options while remaining aligned with company policies.
The platform provides access to richer travel content, including expanded airline choices, enhanced hotel information and more detailed travel options presented in a unified interface.
Advanced search capabilities are designed to help travellers quickly identify relevant options across airports, city locations and preferred suppliers. The platform also introduces enhanced collaboration features, allowing employees to share itineraries and coordinate travel more efficiently.
As sustainability becomes a larger priority for enterprises, the new Concur Travel experience includes tools that provide greater visibility into carbon emissions and sustainable travel choices.
Integrated approval workflows and policy controls are intended to strengthen spend governance while improving compliance without adding complexity for employees.
Foundation for future AI innovation
The launch also sets the stage for future integration with SAP’s generative AI copilot, Joule, which is expected to support users with travel recommendations, cost estimates, and trip planning based on organizational data and traveller preferences.
SAP Concur’s research showed Indian business travellers are increasingly looking for AI capabilities embedded directly into existing workflows, with 54% preferring integrations with calendars and email, and 53% seeking proactive booking notifications.
By combining travel management, expense tracking and intelligent automation into a connected platform, SAP Concur aims to simplify business travel while improving experiences for employees, administrators, and finance teams.
