Wipro Q3 profit falls 7% to ₹3,119 crore amid cost pressures; revenue up 5.5%

IT services major Wipro Limited on Friday reported a 7% decline in its consolidated net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2025. The Bengaluru-based company posted a net profit attributable to equity holders of ₹3,119 crore for Q3 FY26, down from ₹3,354 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. On a sequential basis, profit declined by 3.9%.

Wipro reported a 5.5% year-on-year (YoY) increase in gross revenue, which stood at ₹23,556 crore, compared to ₹22,319 crore in Q3 FY25. In dollar terms, IT Services segment revenue grew 1.2% sequentially to $2,635.4 million.

Labour code impact

The company said that reported earnings were impacted by a one-time provision related to legislative changes. Wipro recognised an impact of ₹302.8 crore due to the implementation of new Labour Codes notified by the Government of India on November 21, 2025.

"Adjusted for the impact of labour code changes, net income for the quarter was ₹3,360 crore — an increase of 3.6% QoQ and 0.3% YoY," the company stated in its press release. Adjusted Earnings Per Share (EPS) for the quarter stood at ₹3.21, flat YoY.

A key positive for the quarter was the improvement in operational efficiency. The IT services operating margin expanded by 90 basis points sequentially to 17.6%, which CFO Aparna Iyer termed the company’s "best margin performance in the last few years."

Wipro's total bookings for the quarter stood at $3.34 billion. Large deal bookings were recorded at $871 million, a moderation of 8.4% YoY in constant currency terms. The company secured 12 major deal wins during the quarter, including a renewal with a global technology leader and a transformation mandate from a major North American furnishings manufacturer.

Outlook and dividend

Wipro has provided revenue guidance for the quarter ending March 31, 2026. The company expects revenue from its IT Services business to be in the range of $2,635 million to $2,688 million, translating to a sequential growth of 0% to 2.0% in constant currency terms.

The board of directors also declared an interim dividend of ₹6 per equity share. As of December 31, 2025, Wipro’s total headcount stood at 242,021, with a voluntary attrition rate of 14.2% on a trailing 12-month basis.

The shares of Wipro ended 2.54% higher at ₹266.80 apiece on the national stock exchange on January 16, 2026.
