Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL) on Thursday announced partnership with Asian Paints to improve supply chain efficiency and availability. Despite this development, shares of Mahindra Logistics and Asian Paints witnessed subdued trade on Friday, swinging between gains and losses.
Early today, Mahindra Logistics opened a tad higher at ₹371.95 against the previous closing price of 369.90 on the BSE. The stock gained as much as 1% to hit a high of ₹373.70, but soon lost momentum and dropped up to 0.9% to ₹366.55 mark during the trade so far.
In a similar trend, Asian Paints shares declined as much as 0.8% to touch an intraday low of ₹2,244.40 on the BSE. The paint heavyweight opened flat at ₹2,263.55 while it hit a high of ₹2,270.20 in early trade today.
In an exchange filing last evening, Mahindra Logistics said that it has entered into a deal with Asian Paints for integrated transportation solutions. Through this partnership, Mahindra Logistics plans to deploy a network of integrated line haul transportation solutions for Asian Paints for short distances to improve their supply chain efficiency, availability and visibility.
“Asian Paints has been a leader in supply chain practices with cutting edge systems, technology, & innovation and this partnership will enable Asian Paints to leverage their scale of operations and further extend this capability in line haul logistics by integrating the new Pro-Trucking solutions from Mahindra Logistics,” it said in a BSE filing.
Mahindra Logistics has recently introduced ‘Pro-Trucking’—a fleet of dedicated, premium, fuel-efficient fleet tailored for extensive Pan-India line haul movements for multi-site customer operations. This offering empowers businesses with enhanced strategic control over their transportation and distribution networks through improved Turn Around Times (TAT), committed fleet availability and high utilisation.
