Shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) rallied as much as 13% to hit a record high on Monday after the state-run engineering major reported strong earnings for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2026.

Cheering robust Q4 results, BHEL shares surged 13.2% to touch a new 52-week high of ₹398.95 in intraday trade on the BSE. At the time of reporting, the PSU stock was trading at ₹379.90, up 7.8%, with a market capitalisation of ₹1.32 lakh crore.

Earlier in the day, BHEL shares opened slightly higher at ₹355.80 against the previous close of ₹352.40 on the BSE. The stock has rebounded 94% from its 52-week low of ₹205.20 hit on August 29, 2025.

The large-cap PSU stock has delivered consistent returns, rallying 55% in the past one month and gaining 30% so far in calendar year 2026. The counter has risen 42% over the past six months and 66% in the last one year.

Q4 profit jumps 156% to ₹1,290 cr

Today’s rally came on the back of a robust financial performance for the March quarter. BHEL reported a 156% jump in consolidated net profit to ₹1,290.47 crore in Q4 FY26, compared with ₹504.45 crore in the same period last year. Revenue growth also remained strong, with total income rising 37% to ₹12,553.50 crore during the quarter, up from ₹9,142.64 crore a year ago.

On the operating front, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) rose to ₹1,753 crore, compared to ₹831 crore in Q4 FY25. The EBITDA margin expanded to 14.24% from 9.24% a year ago.

For the full year ended FY26, the Maharatna PSU firm reported a 200% surge in net profit to ₹1,600 crore, up from ₹534 crore in FY25. Revenue from operations rose 20% year-on-year to ₹34,590 crore, compared to ₹28,805 crore in the previous fiscal.

The board has recommended a final dividend of ₹1.40 per equity share of ₹2 each (i.e., 70% of the paid-up share capital) for FY 2025–26. The dividend, if approved at the Annual General Meeting, will be paid within 30 days from the date of the meeting, BHEL said in its earnings release.
