After receiving an overwhelming response to its initial public offering (IPO), MV Electrosystems made a strong stock market debut on Thursday, with its shares listing at over a 22% premium to the issue price. The listing of the Haryana-based railway equipment maker ranks among the top five IPO debuts of 2026.
The MV Electrosystems shares debuted at ₹519 on the BSE, a 22.12% premium over the issue price of ₹425 apiece, with a market capitalisation of ₹1,415.97 crore. On the NSE, the railway-related stock listed at ₹520, up 22.35% against its IPO price.
With listing gains of more than 22%, MV Electrosystems delivered the fifth-best IPO listing of the year, behind Indo-MIM (52.95%), Kusumgar (44.26%), CMR Green Technologies (29.11%) and Caliber Mining & Logistics (24.65%).
Despite its strong debut, MV Electrosystems listed slightly below Street expectations. Ahead of the listing, the stock was commanding a grey market premium (GMP) of ₹109 per share, indicating an estimated listing price of around ₹534, or a premium of 25.65% over the issue price.
The ₹290-crore IPO had witnessed an overwhelming response from investors, with the issue being subscribed 188.85 times, when it opened for bidding between July 30 to August 3.
The non-institutional investor (NII) category led the demand with a subscription of 374.58 times, followed by the retail portion at 205.42 times and the qualified institutional buyers (QIB) segment at 90.47 times.
The company plans to utilise the IPO proceeds to fund capital expenditure, meet working capital requirements, repay borrowings and support general corporate purposes.
MV Electrosystems is a technology-driven company engaged in the design, development, assembly and manufacturing of electrical and power electronics equipment for railway rolling stock. Its product portfolio includes IGBT-based three-phase drive propulsion systems for electric locomotives, switchgear panels for railway coaches and EMUs, cable protection and management products, and electrical components, systems and sub-systems.
