Jitan Ram Manjhi took over the charge as micro small and medium enterprises minister in New Delhi today. Taking up the charge of the ministry, Manjhi said he is happy to have been allocated the ministry and will work towards upliftment of the poor.

“First of all, I would like to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I have believed since my childhood that work is worship and no job in the world is small. I am very happy to be allocated the ministry of micro small and medium enterprises,” Manjhi said.

“I am very encouraged by the PM’s vision for the ministry. After the allocation of berths, the PM told me that he has entrusted me with the department of his vision. He said his vision is uplift of the poor and taking the benefits of growth to places hitherto untouched. He said a lot can be achieved through this ministry. I consider myself fortunate that PM Modi considered me capable to handle the ministry. PM Modi knows the needs of every nook and corner of the country, and accordingly, he takes initiatives. I will take care of the PM’s vision to empower the poor. It is my luck that an experienced politician like Sobha Karandlaje has joined the ministry as the MoS. We will endeavour to take the ministry to the heights of glory,” added Manjhi.
