Good storytelling is what matters the most for the success of a streaming platform, and Netflix India under the leadership of Monika Shergill has proved that. In 2024 blockbuster show Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, reigned in the Top 10 shows chart of as many as 70 countries and in Q2CY24 Netflix India became the third largest contributor in terms of revenue. Shergill’s greatest satisfaction has been the ability of the streaming platform to tell stories that resonated with viewers across the country, which was not necessarily in Hindi. “What is most heartening is that stories from one part of the country are travelling to other,” says Shergill.
