Jio Financial Services Limited Monday launched a tax planning and filing module for Indian taxpayers on the JioFinance App.

Designed to simplify, enhance, and make tax-planning and income tax return (ITR) filing more affordable for the Indian population, the new feature was created in collaboration with TaxBuddy. The online tax-filing and advisory platform provides taxpayers with a guided, digital-first experience supported by compliance features and expert assistance, the company stated Monday.

The module features two main components—tax planner and tax filing. The tax filing component aims to resolve typical issues such as confusion between old and new tax systems, helping customers save taxes by ensuring they do not miss deductions under sections like 80C and 80D, and reducing dependence on costly intermediaries.

The tax planner assists individuals in projecting and lowering their future tax liabilities by providing personalised deduction mapping, Housing Rent Allowance assessment, and regime comparisons. The tax filing feature enables users to file their returns either independently or with expert guidance, with plans starting from as little as ₹24 for self-service options and ₹999 for assisted filing, the company added.

“With the deadline for filing taxes approaching, our goal is to remove the complexity that a lot of people associate with tax filing,” said Hitesh Sethia, managing director and CEO, Jio Financial Services Limited.

He said that it was equally important to empower customers with effective tax-planning services, enabling them to optimise and keep clear oversight of their tax obligations throughout the financial year. “The integration of this service with the JioFinance App will enable a seamless experience for tax transactions, backed by expert support, clear insights, and transparent pricing,” added Sethia.

After filing their ITR, users can monitor their return status, track refunds, and receive alerts for any tax-related notices—all through the app.
