Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday invited domestic and global investors, entrepreneurs and business leaders to invest in the state, highlighting opportunities across manufacturing, new technologies and green energy as Gujarat prepares for the 11th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in January 2027.

Addressing the event, Patel said Gujarat offered investors a combination of policy stability, skilled youth, effective governance, scale and transparency. The three-day summit is scheduled to begin on January 10, 2027.

Patel calls for fresh investments

“Today, I invite domestic and global investors, entrepreneurs and business leaders to come to Gujarat,” Patel said, urging industry to participate in the state’s development, establish new manufacturing capacities, invest in new technologies and explore opportunities in green growth.

The chief minister said Gujarat had emerged as a global investment destination, having attracted $74.6 billion between January 2000 and March 2026.

The state is seeking to build on its established industrial base while expanding its presence in technology-intensive and energy-transition sectors. Patel said Gujarat was also ready to contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s seven-point ‘Sapta Dhara’ framework aimed at accelerating India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Manufacturing, technology at the centre

The framework covers manufacturing, agro-food production and food processing, technology and innovation, logistics, defence, the green and blue economy, and soft power.

Gujarat’s growing semiconductor ecosystem is expected to be an important part of its technology and manufacturing strategy. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said six of the 12 semiconductor plants approved in the country are coming up in Gujarat, while three have already started production.

Sanghavi said Gujarat would work as a partner with investors and described investments in the state as “safe and secure”.

The semiconductor expansion adds to Gujarat’s established strengths in manufacturing and industrial infrastructure, while the state is simultaneously looking to attract capital into newer areas such as green energy and advanced technologies.

Global outreach ahead of VGGS 2027

The investment drive comes ahead of the state’s wider international outreach for VGGS 2027, through which Gujarat is seeking to attract global capital, technology and strategic partnerships.

The summit is being positioned as a platform to connect the state’s industrial ecosystem with emerging opportunities in technology, clean energy and advanced manufacturing, while strengthening its links with global supply chains.
