As per tech experts, the JioFrames derives its inspiration from Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses, and Meta's founder Mark Zuckerberg, as recently as July this year, had said that the real revolution in the wearables segment would be the arrival of smart glasses.

“If you don’t have glasses that have AI, you’re probably going to be at a pretty significant cognitive disadvantage compared to other people,” Zuckerberg had warned during the company's Q2 earnings call.

As per news reports, Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses, that have been built by being in a collaboration with the eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica, have been popular with the consumers. Meta launched the second generation of the smart glass in October 2023, and since then, have sold about 2 million units. In fact, during Q2 this July, Zuckerberg had revealed that the sales for the smart glasses have tripled, propelling the tech giant's revenue.

During the AGM today, Akash Ambani also said that JioHotstar, streaming service owned by the company, will unveil Riya, which is an AI-powered voice assistant that will allow users navigate through content on the streaming service.

Jio also launched VoicePrint, a voice cloning and lip-sync technology, which is powered by AI, through which consumers can stream content on the platform in different Indian languages.

During the AGM, Reliance also unveiled a new India-focused, AI joint venture with Meta.

“We are forming a dedicated joint venture with Meta to combine open models and tools with our execution in energy, telecom, retail, media, and manufacturing, and to deliver sovereign, enterprise-ready AI for India," said Mukesh Ambani.
