Classic Legends brings together Yezdi and BSA for the first time to introduce two new motorcycles aimed at both entry-premium and mid-premium riders in India’s growing performance-retro segment

Classic Legends has expanded its motorcycle portfolio in India with the launch of two new models under its heritage brands Yezdi and BSA. The company introduced the Yezdi Scrambler 350 and the BSA Scrambler 650, marking the first coordinated rollout of scrambler-themed motorcycles from the two marques. The models are positioned at different ends of the premium segment, with introductory prices starting at ₹1.99 lakh and ₹3.24 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
The launches reflect a deeper push by Classic Legends into the performance-retro category, where it already operates the Jawa, Yezdi and BSA brands. The strategy continues to focus on blending legacy motorcycle design cues with modern engineering platforms, targeting riders seeking both daily usability and weekend exploration capability.
Commenting on the launch, Anupam Thareja, Co-founder, Classic Legends, positioned scramblers as a category with broader cultural relevance in India’s mobility landscape. He compared their evolution to the role SUVs played in passenger vehicles, highlighting their dual capability for urban riding and off-road exploration. He also emphasised that the combination of Yezdi and BSA design identity has been used to define a clearer interpretation of what scrambler motorcycles represent in the Indian context.
Dual-engine strategy defines positioning across segments
The Yezdi Scrambler 350 is positioned as a lightweight, city-focused motorcycle powered by a 350cc liquid-cooled engine. The company claims it is the lightest in its segment at 174 kg, with a performance mix of 30 PS power, 30 Nm torque and 30 km/l efficiency, aimed at urban commuting and short recreational rides.
The BSA Scrambler 650, meanwhile, is built around a 650cc single-cylinder engine producing 45 PS and 55 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. It focuses on low- and mid-range performance delivery, aimed at highway touring and varied road conditions.
Boman Irani, Co-founder, Classic Legends, underscored the cultural lineage of Yezdi in India, noting its association with riders who favour individuality over convention. He described the brand’s evolution from an accessible scrambler format in its earlier iteration to a broader expression of design and riding character in its latest version, reflecting continuity with its historical identity while expanding its positioning.
The BSA model draws inspiration from historical motorcycles such as the Gold Star Catalina and A10 Spitfire, combining retro styling with updated engineering. Both motorcycles have been adapted for India-specific riding conditions to improve stability, comfort and usability.
