SUV auto major Mahindra & Mahindra has said that in seven months after launch, the company has put more than 30,000 electric origin SUVs on the road, translating to roughly one SUV every 10 minutes. The company also claims to achieve the highest revenue market share in H1 FY26, with over Rs. 8000 crore in sales revenue for Mahindra Electric.

The company says its two key offerings, XEV 9e and the BE 6, pulled in everyone from luxury auto aficionados and business leaders to top government officials. “Mahindra’s Electric Origin SUVs have done something no EVs in India have ever achieved: Made electric the object of desire and a lifestyle statement,” Mahindra said in a statement.

The company claims Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs aren’t just getting used for occasional drives; they’ve become the primary vehicles for their owners. “With over 65% (nearly 2 out of 3 vehicles) of our Electric Origin SUVs being driven every single working day, it’s clear they’re powering everyday journeys.”

The company data shows that over a thousand Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs have already crossed 20,000 km within just a few months, with some surpassing the 50,000 km milestone in seven months.

The company says XEV 9e and BE 6 attracted a new customer base for Mahindra. “Eight out of ten buyers had never owned or considered a Mahindra vehicle before.”

It said that BE 6, in just a year of the launch, attracted everything from the EV social buzz to collabs. “The first time an Indian auto brand was featured in India’s biggest gaming phenomenon. The limited-edition 999 units sold out in about 2 minutes.”

Leveraging the proposed free trade agreement (FTA), the company plans to begin exports to the UK, followed by other European markets and Southeast Asia, before eventually entering the U.S., Anish Shah, MD and CEO, Mahindra Group, told Fortune India earlier.

“The products we currently have in South Africa and Australia are doing well on the ICE side. We haven’t introduced our EVs there yet. We have a strong lineup of EVs, which we will take international,” Shah told Fortune India.

This strategy reflects Mahindra’s ambition to become a global EV player while strengthening its domestic foundation in internal combustion engine (ICE) SUVs. Shah noted that the company’s global plan mirrors its domestic playbook—prioritising select markets, executing with precision, and then scaling up. “Think big, do less, execute flawlessly,” he said, adding that Mahindra will focus on a few critical markets first, establish its leadership, and expand further.

Mahindra Racing, meanwhile, also announced its commitment as a manufacturer to the GEN4 era of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, which starts from the 2026/27 season. The news – announced on stage at a special unveiling of the team’s new Mahindra M12Electro in India - extends a strong, long-term relationship between the Indian manufacturer and the FIA’s all-electric racing series, stretching back to 2013, when Mahindra became a founding team in ABB FIA Formula E, and the first OEM to commit to the championship at its inception.

Mahindra Racing has since grown over the past 12 years to become of the standout names in ABB FIA Formula E, amassing five E-Prix victories, 29 podium finishes, 11 pole positions and over 1,000 championship points. "That journey is now set to continue until at least 2030, building on a transformative 18 months that has seen Mahindra Racing rise from the back of the grid to become regular podium contenders under CEO and Team Principal Frederic Bertrand," the company said.
