Mercedes-Benz India has launched the all-new V-Class, a premium multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) aimed at strengthening the company’s presence in the high-end passenger vehicle segment. The model is priced at ₹1.4 crore (ex-showroom, all India) for both petrol (V300) and diesel (V300d) variants.

The MPV debuts a petrol engine in India for the first time, alongside a diesel variant. The petrol unit produces 170 kW (228 bhp) plus a 15 kW mild hybrid boost, while the diesel delivers 174 kW (233 bhp). Both engines are paired with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. Airmatic air suspension, tuned for Indian road conditions, is offered on both powertrains, enhancing ride comfort and stability.

Locally-built luxury MPV

Mercedes-Benz India confirmed that the V-Class will be locally produced, marking a strategic step in its long-term commitment to the market. “The V-Class extends our luxury portfolio and addresses the rising demand for private, spacious, and secure mobility among Indian customers,” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO.

Bookings for the V-Class require a ₹5 lakh advance, ensuring eligibility for the introductory pricing. Analysts see the launch as part of Mercedes-Benz’s strategy to diversify beyond sedans and SUVs, catering to affluent families, corporate clients, and trendsetters seeking privacy and comfort in travel.

Interiors, safety and technology

The V-Class features an extra-long wheelbase (3,430 mm) and a total length of 5,370 mm, offering six seats in a premium layout. The second row includes first-class individual seats with three-stage ventilation, massage, calf support, and wireless charging. The third row introduces ventilated seating—a first in the segment—while the front row offers electrically adjustable and ventilated seats with extended cushion support.

Safety features include seven standard airbags, Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, a 360° camera, and a driver camera with Attention Assist. Technology highlights include AMG Line exterior styling, Multibeam LED headlamps, a Burmester surround sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, and the Energizing Comfort wellness program.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz India reported its highest-ever revenue in 2025, fuelled by strong demand for top-end luxury vehicles, rising electric vehicle (EV) sales, and robust growth in its high-performance AMG portfolio.
