His continued presence on the RBI Central Board brings an experienced corporate leader to the central bank’s board at a time when monetary policy, financial stability and the broader economic environment remain key areas of focus for businesses and policymakers.

What is the RBI Central Board?

The Central Board is the apex decision-making body of the Reserve Bank of India. The board includes the RBI Governor and Deputy Governors, along with directors appointed by the Central Government.

As a non-official director, Mahindra is part of the board in a capacity distinct from the RBI’s executive leadership. His appointment is also separate from his responsibilities as chairman of the Mahindra Group.
