Pais, a long-time executive within the Flipkart ecosystem, will report to group CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy. Her elevation underscores the company’s reliance on internal leadership to steer key verticals, particularly as competition intensifies in India’s online fashion segment.

Sinha, who led Myntra through a period of steady growth and brand expansion, will remain involved for the next few months to ensure a smooth transition. Her exit comes at a time when fashion e-commerce is witnessing sharper competition, driven by evolving consumer preferences, the rise of quick commerce models, and increasing investments in premium and private labels.

What does this leadership reshuffle signal for Flipkart’s fashion strategy?

In parallel, Flipkart has appointed Kapil Thirani to head Flipkart Fashion, reporting to Sakait Chaudhary. The company has also initiated the search for a successor for its marketplace business, signalling a broader reshuffle across its leadership ranks.

The changes highlight Flipkart’s renewed focus on fashion and lifestyle, a category that continues to drive higher margins and customer engagement compared to other segments. Myntra, in particular, has emerged as a key growth engine for the group, supported by a strong network of brands, sellers and a loyal urban consumer base.

Internal transitions such as this help preserve operational continuity while allowing companies to recalibrate strategy without disruption. In a fast-moving category like fashion, where inventory cycles are short and trends shift quickly, leadership stability remains critical.

Krishnamurthy said Myntra has built a strong position in the fashion and lifestyle space and that Pais’s appointment reflects the “depth of internal leadership” within the organisation. “I thank Nandita for her contributions and wish her the very best,” he added. Sinha said, “Serving Myntra has been a rewarding journey. I wish the team continued success.”
