Godrej Properties plans ₹16,000 crore investment by FY28, while Godrej Ventures will put another ₹3,500 crore into Gurugram office assets

Godrej Industries Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Haryana government to invest approximately ₹20,000 crore in the state over the coming years, with the proposed investments expected to generate around 40,000 jobs.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The group, which has already invested close to ₹12,000 crore in the state, currently employs around 9,000 people across its businesses in Haryana.

Godrej Properties to lead expansion

Godrej Properties will account for the bulk of the planned investment. The real estate developer has invested around ₹11,000 crore in Haryana so far and plans to commit another ₹16,000 crore by FY28, taking its cumulative investment in the state to nearly ₹27,000 crore.

The company currently has 18 projects across Gurugram, Sonipat, Faridabad, Panipat and Kurukshetra. Its upcoming developments are expected to create more than 11,000 jobs.

Godrej Ventures, the group's real estate private equity arm, has invested about ₹1,000 crore in Haryana and plans to deploy a further ₹3,500 crore in Grade A+ office space in Gurugram.

The investments are together expected to generate more than 30,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Pirojsha Godrej, Chairperson, Godrej Industries Group, said, "Haryana has become a significant growth driver for the group, with its economic depth, pace of urbanisation and Gurugram's emergence as a commercial and employment hub."

He added that the MoU formalises the next phase of the group's plans and that it looks forward to working with the state government on their execution.

FMCG, finance businesses also have presence

Beyond real estate, Godrej Industries Group's other businesses have an established footprint in Haryana. Godrej Capital operates five branches in the state and has facilitated nearly ₹550 crore in bookings through its financing arm.

Godrej Consumer Products has a distribution network comprising 42 direct distributors and more than 250 rural stockists across Haryana.

Group steps up local infrastructure spending

The group also spends around ₹1 crore annually on corporate social responsibility initiatives in Haryana and has invested more than ₹10 crore in infrastructure-related projects. These initiatives include support systems for construction workers, weather-related insurance coverage and restoration work in public spaces in Karnal and Kurukshetra.

Rakesh Swami, Group Head and President, Corporate Affairs, Godrej Industries Group, said, "The MoU reflects the group's long-term confidence in Haryana across residential, commercial, infrastructure and services opportunities," while citing the state's ease of doing business and investment climate.

Godrej Industries Group reported revenue of $7.2 billion in FY26 and had a market capitalisation of $19 billion as of March 31, 2026. The group has businesses spanning FMCG, real estate, financial services, agriculture and chemicals.
