IOC net profit surges 50% YoY to ₹7,265 cr; declares ₹3 final dividend

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) posted a strong financial performance for the quarter ended March 2025, with consolidated net profit rising 50% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹7,265 crore. The growth was supported by robust refining margins and improved earnings from the petroleum products segment. In the same quarter last year, IOC had reported a net profit of ₹4,812 crore.

Revenue from operations for Q4FY25 stood at ₹2,17,725.44 crore, a slight increase of 0.5% from ₹2,16,649.47 crore reported in Q4FY24. The company’s gross refining margin (GRM) came in at $8 per barrel during the quarter, up sharply from $2.9 per barrel in the previous quarter, reflecting improved profitability in its core refining business.

IOC’s board recommended a final dividend of ₹3 per equity share for FY25, representing 30% of the face value of ₹10 per share. The dividend is subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) and will be paid within 30 days of declaration. The record date for the dividend will be announced later.

In terms of segmental performance, IOC’s gas segment posted a revenue of ₹11,189.69 crore in Q4FY25, marginally higher than ₹11,028.15 crore in Q3FY25. However, EBIT for the segment declined significantly to ₹33.22 crore from ₹444.57 crore sequentially. The petrochemicals segment saw revenue rise to ₹7,225.87 crore from ₹7,201.85 crore in the previous quarter, but the EBIT loss widened to ₹205.72 crore from ₹154.86 crore.

The petroleum products segment delivered a steady revenue of ₹2,03,732.30 crore, compared to ₹2,03,051.80 crore in Q3. Notably, EBIT for the segment more than doubled to ₹9,533.54 crore from ₹4,116.93 crore, indicating a strong recovery in margins.
