Mahindra sees rise in sales and production; exports fall in December

Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, in an exchange filing, announced its monthly performance, reporting strong growth in sales and production, alongside a decline in export volumes.

The company said its total sales volume rose to 85,501 units, marking a 27% on-year (YoY) increase from 67,252 units a year ago. Total production also grew sharply, rising 25.4% YoY to 68,992 units from 55,015 units in December last year. However, total export volumes declined 9.3% YoY to 2,849 units, compared with 3,142 units in the same period last year. Domestic sales for commercial vehicles stood at 24,786 units, registering a growth of 34%. 

Scorpio stood out as a top performer

Scorpio stood out as a top performer, selling 15,313 units in December, up from 11,686 units last year. In contrast, its premium offering, the XUV700, saw a sharp fall in sales, with 7,337 units sold last December compared with just 453 units in December 2025. This was due to Mahindra launching a new edition of the SUV, the XUV 7XO, which has already recorded around 1,000 sales and is set to begin deliveries this week. 

Bolero recorded sales of 10,611 units, nearly doubling its volumes with a 79.21% YoY rise, making it one of the month’s biggest growth drivers. The XUV 3XO followed with 9,422 units, up 34.60% YoY while the Thar and Thar ROXX together contributed 9,339 units, up 21.93% YoY, supported by consistent demand for lifestyle SUVs. 

Mahindra’s electric portfolio continued to grow

Meanwhile, Mahindra’s electric portfolio continued to grow. The XEV 9e recorded sales of 2,154 units while the BE 6 added 1,481 units in December 2025. The XEV 9S, which was launched in November, recorded sales of 491 units. 

On a month-on-month basis, Mahindra noted a total sales decline of 9.57% from 56,336 units in November 2025. 

At 10.40 am on Monday, shares of the company were trading 1.4% lower at ₹3,624.30 on the BSE. The automaker’s shares have fallen 3.35% over the past five sessions, with its market capitalisation currently at ₹4.37 lakh crore.
