The project, part of the CPSU scheme, will supply power to Madhya Pradesh, create employment, and boost local infrastructure, highlighting SECI's role in advancing India's renewable energy goals
Marking a milestone in India’s renewable energy journey, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday laid the foundation stone of the 300 MW(AC) Solar PV Project at Ramagiri in Andhra Pradesh, Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited's (SECI) largest self-owned solar PV installation. "Our effort is focussed on Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, development for everyone with clean energy and better opportunities for every family,” the PM said.
Spread over 1,047 acres in Ramagiri and Muthuvakuntla villages, the project has been developed under the CPSU Scheme Phase II, Tranche III. The power will be procured by Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) for which agreements have been made.
As a model of public sector-led renewable energy development, the project will create direct and indirect jobs during both construction and operation phases, support local infrastructure development and contribute to socio-economic growth in the region.
SECI is a leading Navratna state-owned company focused on renewable energy (RE) in the country. Appointed as a nodal agency, SECI plays a key role in meeting the country's RE goals and spearheading the sector with innovative project configurations.
