The partnership will focus on several emerging and deep-technology sectors including pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, space and aerospace, defence, mobility, smart infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.

Hyderabad-based startup ecosystem platform T-Hub has entered into a partnership with the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) in an attempt to strengthen collaboration between Indian and Japanese startups in deep-technology sectors.
The partnership will create structured pathways for startups, corporates and investors from Japan to enter and expand in India while helping Indian startups explore opportunities in the Japanese market, the organisations said in a statement.
The collaboration will focus on enabling cross-border innovation and deeper engagement between the two countries’ startup ecosystems.
Under the partnership, T-Hub will act as an access platform for Japanese startups, corporates and investors looking to expand into India.
The collaboration will include startup exchange programmes, corporate open-innovation initiatives, market access support, regulatory guidance, ecosystem immersion programmes and investor connect platforms.
These initiatives are expected to help startups navigate new markets and build connections with investors, corporates and policymakers.
The partnership will focus on several emerging and deep-technology sectors including pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, space and aerospace, defence, mobility, smart infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.
It will also support startups working in artificial intelligence, deep-tech and Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT and cloud computing.
The sectors were identified as areas where collaboration between India’s startup ecosystem and Japan’s industrial capabilities could generate innovation opportunities.
The collaboration builds on T-Hub’s existing relationships with Japanese corporations, venture capital firms and academic institutions.
In recent years, T-Hub has worked with companies such as NEC, Panasonic, Suzuki, Denso, Aisin, Toyota and Nitto Denko, as well as government organisations and universities in Japan.
Officials said the partnership aligns with the broader India-Japan strategic framework, which stresses technology cooperation and innovation-driven economic growth.
