The travel agency expects this partnership to pick up momentum during the festive season, serving the needs of both leisure and student travellers.
Travel and forex services provider Thomas Cook India launched Thursday the facility to deliver its Borderless Travel and Study Buddy forex cards instantly via quick commerce platform Blinkit.
The forex cards will be doorstep delivered via Blinkit initially rolled out in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. With this partnership, the service aims to make foreign exchange faster and more convenient, catering to India’s growing demand for digital-first, time-efficient solutions.
The travel agency expects this partnership to gain traction during the ongoing festive season, catering to the needs of both leisure and student travellers.
“To save travellers the time and hassle, we’ve collaborated with Thomas Cook India to enable the convenient delivery of blank forex cards through Blinkit, right to their doorstep. We handle the delivery, while Thomas Cook India manages the secure V-KYC process and card activation,” said Anish Shrivastava, Senior Vice President - Revenue, Blinkit.
Customers can order a forex card on Blinkit, complete KYC and payment via a secure Thomas Cook link, and have their card loaded and ready for use, all within an hour.
“Quick commerce is reshaping customer expectations across categories, and we saw a clear opportunity to integrate this into foreign exchange, which has become essential for international travel. By offering our blank forex cards via Blinkit, our trusted distribution partner, we are not only enhancing convenience but also redefining travel readiness — enabling customers to be fully equipped within minutes, right at their doorstep. Our dedicated forex team will manage the compliance and processing requirements as per statutory guidelines, completing the entire process within an hour,” said Deepesh Varma, Executive Vice President - Foreign Exchange, Thomas Cook (India) Limited.
A Forex card, which is a prepaid travel card like a debit card, comes preloaded with foreign currency to help avoid currency fluctuations. However, the cards delivered to customers’ homes will initially have no balance and must be topped up by the user before use.
The initiative complements Thomas Cook’s other digital offerings, including Ghar Pe Forex, WhatsApp, Google Pay, and TC Pay services.
This collaboration positions Thomas Cook India as the first forex provider in India to leverage rapid delivery for blank forex cards, enhancing travel readiness and customer convenience.
