The scheme specifies that individuals can benefit from PMIS only if they are not enrolled in a full-time academic programme or employment. The aim is to unlock the potential of India’s young talent by offering them 12-month paid internships at the nation’s top companies. In the second round, each applicant can apply to up to 3 internships until the application deadline.

Each intern will receive a monthly assistance of ₹5,000, plus a one-time financial support of ₹6,000. “Each internship will be a combination of relevant training and professional experience (at least six months) to ensure that candidates learn and can also apply their skills in real-world settings,” the statement read.

Eligible candidates can handpick internships by filtering opportunities based on their preferred district, state, sector and field of interest. Within a custom radius option, they can search for opportunities near their particular current address.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs also mentioned that the round 2 is focussed on offering internships in colleges, universities and Rozgar melas. “For round 2, more than 70 IEC events are being conducted across India in districts with maximum number of internship opportunities in colleges, universities ITIs, Rozgar melas etc., based on the kind of qualifications required for these internships. Furthermore, national level digital campaigns are underway through multiple platforms as well as influencers based on concentration of opportunities and relevance to youth.”
