Pure electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy said on Thursday that it has crossed the milestone of opening over 500 experience centres in India. The Bengaluru-based company stated that over the past few months, it has rapidly expanded its presence nationwide, with a particular focus on middle and northern India.
“While South India continues to be our strongest base, where we are steadily growing, the success of Rizta has also helped us fast-track expansion in Middle and North India. This growth is not confined to metros alone,” said Ravneet Singh Phokela, chief business officer, Ather Energy, in a statement. In the first quarter, it sold about 46,000 units of its Ritza electric scooter.
According to Phokela, Ather Energy is also expanding its presence in tier 2 and 3 cities, where consumer response has been equally encouraging. “As we continue to scale, our focus remains on making Ather accessible to more customers across India, with the aim of crossing 700 Experience Centres by the end of FY26,” he added.

In the last three months alone—between June-August 2025—Ather Energy has added 101 new Experience Centres to its network across India, the company disclosed. Of these, more than 58 have been opened across Middle and North India, in cities such as Agra in Uttar Pradesh, Mandsaur and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, Sundargarh in Odisha, Vadodara in Gujarat, and Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh.
In South India, where Ather is a market leader, the company has built a robust retail network and continues to expand steadily. “Additionally, Ather is also deepening its presence in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, including Kozhikode, Indore, Nashik, Coimbatore, Guntur, Haldwani, Satara, Kota, Kangra, and Aizwal, to make its electric scooters accessible to a wider base of customers,” it added. The company has been deploying multiple retail formats tailored to different tiers. Concurrent with the expansion of its retail network, Ather is also expanding its service network.
Ather Energy identifies South India as its mainstay, with the region being key to the company’s growth in the coming quarters. Its market share is rising to 22.8% in the first quarter of FY26. It also added 95 stores in the quarter, and it currently has 446 stores operational. The company had previously announced a target of a threefold increase in its store count in North India.
In the first quarter, Ather Energy said that its quarterly net loss had narrowed by 2.7% to ₹178 crore, helped by robust demand for its portfolio of electric scooters. Bengaluru-based Ather Energy’s revenue for the quarter ended June 30 nearly doubled—jumping 78.7% to ₹644.6 crore.
The company, which began selling electric scooters in 2018, said its total expenses for the reporting quarter rose by 54.4% to ₹851.1 crore, with a 62% increase in the cost incurred for the materials consumed. The company also said that it spent ₹89 crore on R&D in the first quarter.
